Ongoing issues
Several pot holes on Blacksmiths Lane have been marked for repair.
Others on Fen Lane and School Lane have been reported and should be repaired during April
Top of Blacksmiths Lane: Housing development access.
Transport Plan for access awaited from ELDC once it is submitted by the owner.
ELDC planning dept to decide, vehicles cannot safely or legally go through the no entry signs from A16
Corkscrew Cottage can apply to be given Heritage Status as it was the Village Blacksmiths.
Fen Lane outside Brayford Lodge
Blocked drain reoccurring over several years. Road completely covered in water and freezes in winter. Has caused problems for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists for several years.
Road closure Order - Fen Lane (Between 'Road From Boston Road To Fen Lane' & School Lane) Period of restriction: 13/04/2026 - 17/04/2026
(Restrictions to be implemented for 5 days as and when required during this period, signage detailing accurate dates and times will be displayed on site in advance).
Blacksmith's Lane
Several potholes along the length of the lane. Reported on 18th and 19th March, because no action was taken on the January report See: https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/9128879
A16 Junction with The Switchback (Old Bolingbroke Lane)
Long-standing flooding and drainage issue, leading to many potholes in a small area on an ongoing basis.

Public Footpath across fields between Fen Lane and A16 often overgrown.
Footpaths Officer County Council conducts a clearance several times a year subject to budget. Last clearance July 2025
