We are writing to let you know that today Lincolnshire County Council's Executive approved a package of improvements for Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) across the county.
The agreed recommendations include the introduction of a booking system across all 11 Household Waste Recycling Centres, alongside a programme of infrastructure improvements designed to reduce queuing, improve traffic management, enhance safety, and support higher recycling performance. These improvements follow a detailed review of the service, which identified increasing visitor numbers, rising waste volumes, and growing pressure across Lincolnshire's HWRC network.
We appreciate that parish and town councils are often one of the first places residents turn to with questions about council services, so we wanted to ensure you have the latest information.
Importantly, nothing changes immediately.
The Executive's decision allows officers to begin the next stage of work, including procuring the booking system and progressing the planned infrastructure improvements. Before any changes are introduced, there will be a comprehensive programme of communications and engagement to explain how the system will work, when it will be introduced and what residents need to do.
Residents will receive plenty of notice before any changes come into effect. The new booking system will also include a telephone booking option for residents who do not have internet access, helping to ensure the service remains accessible to everyone.
